A bit of what you fancy

I had a bit of a rough morning, so my mama took me out to a local mall, and let me raid H&M and Superdrug for some shiny things. I didn’t just buy polish… though mostly I did. My collection has grown so much over the last few weeks, it’s hard to keep up with what I’ve got. Might be time to start organising a little better!

…And better news!

So, as I said in my last post, it was my birthday party yesterday, which was utterly fabulous. The weather was gorgeous, I got to see loads of my brilliant friends, and we had a bunch of yummy food, booze, watched a double feature of Indiana Jones (Raiders and Crusade) and a jolly good time was had by all. But I have to say, it topped all other birthday parties, in that a bunch of my friends got together and bought me the most excellent present ever… and I’m gonna need to build a new polish wishlist, because they got me almost everything off it, plus a few things I didn’t even know I wanted! Yes, really!

Seriously, just look at this haul! I could not have asked for a better gift, and even better, there are still 2 more polishes to come! I had a bit to drink yesterday (duh), so I can’t quite remember which ones they are, but I’m sure they’ll be utterly amazing, just like everything else here. Seriously, I am so stoked with this, it was incredibly thoughtful, and I want to give extra special thanks to Denny for having the idea in the first place and rounding up contributors, and to Emma for doing all the research, hunting, and gathering, which must have been quite a task. Of course, mega thanks also go to EJ, Helen, Kath, Mat, Pir, Poggs, Sarah, Stu, Ursula and Red for chipping in. I am completely blown away by this wonderful gift, and I couldn’t be happier right now to know the people I do.

I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends, and I love you all very much. I am going to have so much fun with all these!

Don’t walk; RUN!

Well, I’m almost back from my hiatus, though I’m still not doing anything interesting with my nails as it’s still too hot and they are still too stubby and I am still a bit weepy and useless. Boo!

However, today I bring you my latest bargain haul, courtesy of my local Poundland. I got a tipoff a few days ago (thanks D!) that they had some OPI Shatter polishes in stock, so I popped down today, and boy, did I get lucky…

L to R: Sally Hansen Virtual Violet and Plum Power, OPI Shatter Black, Gold and Shatter The Scales.

Yes, these are full, brand new bottles of Sally Hansen and OPI for just a pound each; these polishes normally retail for up to £8 a go. So if you’re in the UK, get your butt down to your nearest Poundland and see if you can grab yourself some bargain beauties! Add these to the bottle of Jack The Lad by Butter London I picked up from my local TKMaxx for £4 the other day, and it has been quite the week for fantastic finds. Phew, it almost makes me feel better about the weather and all the drama round here lately… well, almost.

I hope to be back with some new swatches within the next week or so. Take it easy!

Whoops.

Well, so much for my embargo. I knew it wouldn’t last long, but two of my eBay polishes turned up this morning, and I just happened to be in Boots with time to kill (waiting for disappearing medication to show up – fun). On the plus side, I had a voucher for half price No7, and everything else in there is Buy One Get The 2nd Half Price at the moment, which softened the blow somewhat. My dotticure is still standing the test of time, day 4 now and have only had to do minor tip repair on one nail. Go me!
